I did something out of the ordinary and make an order
with eabsinthe.com a while back when they were offering
specials on discontinued brands. They were also,…*ahem*,
“nice” enough to include a few mini sets of La fee
Bohemian. There comes a point when you have to stop
trying to give away something unwanted, and get it to
the curb in time for garbage day.
La Fee was an early pioneer of the burning sugar
trend. In fact, the little spoon you see in the kit
(photo below) is used to roast your sugar, and then just
sort of dump it in the glass. DON’T EVER DO THIS. It
ruins absinthe, good and bad alike.
When it comes to La Fee, you’ve heard this story
before, and it has the same tragic ending you remember.
Loucheless, blueish mouthwash with a little more alcohol
than the Walmart brand.
Other Notes: Due to a slightly cleaner taste,
this is the highest-rated Czech brand yet, though that’s
still not saying much, is it? I ended-up spilling the
emergency blanket that is my glass of water (on my
pants, no less), so it’s time to cleanse the taste buds!
I’m going to scrub these choppers for 10 minutes
straight, followed by a good swish of mouthwa-…uh, on
second thought maybe I’ll just brush.
